Hey Yetis! Welcome to the Denver Prep Academy Blog and our first post! We’re so excited to announce that Baye Fall will be joining our Colorado prep academy for the 2021 fall semester.
DPA Hopes to Have an Amazing Year!
For those of you not in the know, the high school junior is among the top players in the entire United States. ESPN ranked him as the 20th top prospective player among all classes and the 4th top prospect for the class of 2023. On top of that, he earned the co-MVP spot at the Pangos All-American Camp in Las Vegas and helped lead the Lutheran High School team to the Class 3A state championship – which earned him Player of the Year and MVP honors in Colorado.
On top of all that, Baye is being courted by a plethora of colleges and universities, with scholarship offers from Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Texas A&M, Memphis, Baylor, Arizona, Georgetown, and Georgia. Other universities and colleges that have expressed interest include Arkansas, Marquette, Kentucky, Florida State, Arizona State, LSU, Colorado, and Maryland.
“He’s a special talent for sure,” said Raymond Valdez of Denver Prep Academy. “I’ve got a ton of respect for Baye, his professionalism, his approach to the game, his love of the game. He’ll, without a doubt, do some incredible things for us this upcoming year.”
And now, Baye Fall is joining Denver Prep Academy. Here’s what the talented center had to say about joining one of the top prep academies in Colorado:
“I’m so excited for this great opportunity, and thankful to my family, coaches and teammates for all their love and support. The academics at Lutheran are top notch and my basketball Coach Bill Brandsma has been a great teacher and developer, but at this time in my career I decided that playing against the best in America will assist me in reaching my ultimate goal of playing in the NBA. That being said, there’s definitely a long road ahead of me, but this is the next step in achieving my dream. I haven’t been in America very long, but I’m working harder and harder every day since I first started playing basketball. I’m eager to bring my game to Denver Prep Academy and show everyone what I’m about.”
Welcome to Denver Prep Academy, Baye!
We’re thrilled to have Baye Fall join our team. He’s going to be a part of an exceptional crew of talented, focused players led by coaches with decades of experience. They’ll be playing in the prestigious Grind Session circuit, a league of other top preparatory academies from around the United States and Canada. The circuit has 1,800 college-level players and 124 professional athletes as alumni; in 2020, around 20% of the first-round NBA draft picks came out of the Grind Session.
Of course, at DPA, athletics and academics are equally important. While in the classroom, Baye and other students will receive a top-notch education from teachers who are committed to their charges. These classes will be a chance for students to express themselves and think critically. After all, at DPA, you don’t just learn facts and figures – you learn how to think about those things and draw out important lessons.
And that critical thinking doesn’t end in the classroom. We want our players to really think about the game, dive in deep, and push themselves to grow. Because at DPA, athletics and academics don’t compete – they collaborate to help student-athletes become the best they can be.
